THE ALPS - Easy Action

THE ALPS - Easy Action (Mexican Summer) Comentários: Blending folk music with electronics and a vibe like sunshine pouring raisins down on you from the heavens, San Francisco’s The Alps are America’s premiere morning musicians. Put on something like “Spray,” from their latest full-length Easy Action, into your wake-up routine, daylight peeking out over the trees and buildings, an abundance of noise and effects co-existing around stern acoustic folk guitar melodies, traditions smashing against one another like metaphysical Japanese monsters to make room for more skies and visible horizons in your life. Featuring Alexis Georgeopolous (Arp), Jefre Cantu-Ledesma (Tarantel) and Scott Hewicker (Troll), the Alps make music that is made to move the mountains in your mind, and help you to take some time for yourself, out of focus from the rest of the world, and think about what you can do today to make the world better. ADDISON GROOVE aka HEADHUNTER - It's Got Me/ Minutes Of Funk

ADDISON GROOVE - It's Got Me / Minutes Of Funk (3204) Comentários: Addison Groove squares up to the 'floor with two twinkle-toed specials for Martyn's 3024 label. It's his 3rd single in as many weeks, following the 'Work It' session for Swamp 81 and 'This Is It' on Tectonic, but these vibes are more red-lit and sensuous than any of those. The midnight-primed 'It's Got Me' swaggers to dextrously nipped and tucked 808 programming and Martyn-styled rhodes motifs resulting in one of the most laidback AG tunes we've heard. With 'Minutes Of Funk' he drops the tempo to roll at House pace, sounding kinda like Fast Eddie got blunted with Virgo on some weird, obscure Dance Mania episode. in boomkat [Para Ouvir/Samples]

Teaser for aTelecine's upcoming LP "The Falcon and The Pod" on Pendu Sound

Teaser for aTelecine's upcoming LP "The Falcon and The Pod" on Pendu Sound Recordings....
Out JULY 2011 on PENDU SOUND RECORDINGS. aTelecine is: Founding Members: Sasha Grey + Pablo St. Francis, Additional Members: Anthony Djuan + Ian C. Many know Sasha Grey for her starring role in Steven Soderbergh's "Girlfriend Experience" or as Vince Chase's girlfriend on 'Entourage' or as the starlet on the cover of October 2010′s issue of Playboy Magazine or as an acclaimed former porn star. Although Sasha has now released two limited edition full-length LPs and a 7" with her band aTelecine and has also worked with Current 93 lending her vocals to "Aleph at Hallucinatory Mountain", she is only beginning to be known for her music, and yet Sasha has always made music. Sasha was inspired to play music by groups such as Throbbing Gristle and KMFDM and has been recording music since she was 15 years old.
So what does aTelecine sound like? aTelecine take an experimental approach to making music in the form of sound collages which bring to mind artists such as Nurse With Wound and Coil branching out into a world of dark ambient and death-dub. Their music is ever evolving and mutating and it's only with each new album that they release that we are able to glimpse where they are heading. Pendu Sound . Video Credits: aTelecine

Filled with nostalgia for the golden age of the 60s, Leo Zero channels hypnotic psychedelic vibes in his design work fronting a generation of musicians, clubs and brands. Boxcutter - The Dissolve

Barry Lynn's fourth album for Planet Mu effectively sees him disengage with Dubstep and embrace the esoteric strands of Jazz, Techno and Electronica which always richly informed his music. It's no surprise really, given that his previous album 'Arecibo Message' and singles on Kinnego Records have been moving towards a finer balance of electro and acoustic instrumentation for the last few years. Worry not though, he's not lost his head up his arse with over-egged "experimentalism", the 13 tracks of 'The Dissolve' are still definitively Boxcutter, but now rubbed with that same pseudo lo-fi aesthetic as Actress' 'Splazsh' LP to sound more worldly, confidently expressing a scuffed, more vulnerable sense of soul. Vocals feature prominently, including three pivotal tracks with Brian Greene, from the fonky, Detroit-vibing 'All Too Heavy' to the heady title track, full of dextrous jump cuts and deliciously smudged pop glow, or the Sa-Ra-esque cosmic burner 'Ufonik'. For us the highlights have to be the Street Fighter-referencing avant-Bashment of 'Cold War', the yearning Yacht-boogie vibes of 'Passerby' and the 'ardcore Juke-Dub fusion of 'Allele', but we're quite certain everyone will have their own percy. Most importantly, this album proves his charming ability to absorb and assimilate outside influences without compromising his personal style, and still sound completely on it. Jamie Woon - Mirrorwriting

Jamie Woon - Mirrorwriting (Polydor) Comentários: Much anticipated debut opus from Jamie Woon, featuring three productions by Will Bevan aka Burial. It feels like an age since his 'Wayfaring Stranger' 12" first wowed the world, but it was actually only five years ago, in which time he's been placed fourth in BBC's sound of 2011 poll and collaborated with Subeena and Sa-Ra's Om'Mas Keith. The album opens with those three Burial productions, the previous singles 'Night Air' and 'Lady Luck' plus the strutting R&B of 'Street', as much a departure for Bevan as the others and quite successful too. The rest of the album is strewn between string-heavy and swollen-hearted pop soul, finding highlights on the sweet Kalimba and New Jack swing drums of 'Echoes' and the reflective 'Gravity'. in boomkat

Pedro Magina - Kickflip

Taken from "Nineteen Hundred And Eighty Five c40" - Not Not Fun K7. "Following one of the best installments on Ruralfaune's Synth Series, Portuguese synthesist Pedro Magina offers a more substantial debut for NNF. 'Nineteen Hundred And Eighty Five' features eight dream sequence soundtracks in thrall to Tangerine Dream and Harmonia, but probably best compared with the likes of Leyland Kirby, Oneohtrix Point Never or Rene Hell. His synths yearn for their era of birth, some time in a mist of '80s mimetics, but this is 2011 and those pangs have become distorted and muddied, building banks of silty reminisces in a Ballardian lagoon of digitized New Age memories. Recommended!" boomkat

Coracola (Mikey Lee) - Mikey's DJ residences around Boston, just about an hour east of his hometown of Worcester, a dense cloud of blog-followers, and the self-released EP cassette "747" aggregated in a nomination for the Best Local Electronic/Dance Act of '09 in the Boston Phoenix, shows with Lymbyc System, Telefon Tel Aviv, and Small Black. The floodgates then opened gloriously for assimilation into the DIY basement party machine known as Big Digits with shows alongside Dan Deacon and Health. With the arrival of the single EGGGIRL (ode to meme pinup EGGGIRL) in the Spring of 2010 and a slew of EPs and collaborations scheduled to materialize in 2010, the Coralcola forecast is bubbling and resolute. Mikey Lee's auratic quest pushes forward to future levels, propelled by the everyday sifting-through and plundering of fragments of popkultur, foliage and industrial detritus of Worcesterian suburbia.

"This album is focused on the Ambient-leaning Synthpop material I have been making recently. This will be an end to the CHILLWAVE ERA sound of Ra Cailum. It's just becoming a crutch. STILL MAKING MUSIC THOUGH!"
