Rainer Veil - New Brutalism

Rainer Veil - New Brutalism (Modern Love) Comentários: One year on from their debut, Rainer Veil explore deep, brittle rave variants on their 2nd EP for Modern Love. The five tracks of 'New Brutalism' are a product of their Northern environment, making pointed reference to the kind of deep-rooted rave heritage documented in Mark Leckey's 'Fiorucci Made Me Hardcore' soundtrack through a prism of angular, vulnerable club music. Conceptually, It adopts a similar perspective on British nightlife to Burial or Lee Gamble, surveying the 'floor as if during an out-of-body experience or through closed eyes from a corner of the club at 5am. Opening track, 'UK Will Not Survive' captures that sensation beautifully with its tape-saturated layers of wistful vocal, woody 2-step and daubs of Reese bass, whilst 'Three Day Jag' isolates that curious blend of hedonism and introspection innate to early UK 'ardcore, albeit without the narco-sweats. Closing number 'Run Out' doffs a cap to grey building sites and strobe-lit clubs alike, channelling diffuse field recordings and half-heard breakbeats with a bleary-eyed, tired and emotional quality. in boomkat

Visonia Et Dopplereffekt - Die Reisen

Visonia Et Dopplereffekt - Die Reisen (Last Known Trajectory) Comentários: Jaw-dropping electro-pop debut from Chilean producer Nicolas Estany aka Visonia, including a stunning hook-up with Dopplereffekt. Boding very well for his imminent debut album, 'Impossible Romance', this single introduces a full fledged new artist paying dues to his influences - Depeche Mode, Detroit electro, classic synth-pop - with incredibly fine-tuned finesse and respect. Alongside Dopplereffekt on 'Die Reisen' he plays out a beautifully poised and ice-cool electro-noir waltz that's just left us for six, whilst flipside yields two solo productions - the sublime melancholy and palatial grandeur of 'Antarctic Love' and the almost--too-perfect DM vibes of 'Impossible Romance'. Unmissable. via boomkat [Stream Here]

Walter Van Beirendonck Fall Winter 2014

Italian producer Daniele Mana’s, dropped a free track titled "Ghost 2501", taken from H.O.P.E. E.P. released on November 2013  by the emergent leftfield label Gang Of Ducks Imprint. The track uses as a propellant martial beat soft-gabber, wrapped in a bubble of plastic-coated choruses. If this sounds vaguely familiar it's because you are straight from the  main theme of Ghost in the Shell . As if that were not enough eighty percent of Tumblr testify as to the souls of the early nineties have shaped the visions unpacked and the fetishism of a generation, here is an explicit declaration of love. Download it for free > Here ! Check also down below some of his videos.

Haf Haf - Notch

Haf Haf - Notch (Gang Of Ducks) Milan's Haf Haf debuts a groggy hip hop and techno sound on one of the most intriguing labels to emerge in 2013, Gang Of Ducks. Coming off like a stoned relative of Kouhei Matsunaga and the Opal Tapes crew, 'Notch' cycles eight cuts of marbly, off-kilter techno grooves and lop-sided rave to put a crick in your neck. 'Ode to U19' sets the tone with what sounds like Tomutonttu splaying a Skweee groove, whilst 'Hybrid' locks down a badass hybrid of knackered techno chug and hip hop beside the Madteo-like budge of 'Gate Keeper'. 'Fractal' is one of the freakiest on offer, like a mutant take on Belgian New Beat spliced with strange, cut-up new age chords, whilst 'Qwetzal' and 'Notch' do a broken-down, enervated rave sound with uncanny flair, poised on the cusp of too-f**ked-to-dance but just gotta. Virile Games - Wounded Laurel

Hospital Productions return with their first release of the year, a heavy 30-minute session of layered drone and tormented, bass-heavy bombast from Max Gudmunson's Virile Games project, now available on vinyl for the first time after a sold-out micro edition of cassettes in 2013. Operating somewhere between his label-mate Lussuria's gothic ambience, the ear-bleaching concrète of Helm, and the more blown-out cinematic visions of Leyland Kirby, 'Wounded Laurel' oscillates between sublime and wretched with a gripping night-time narrative. Opener 'Death And Rebirth Of Adonis' sets the scene with a distant arrangement of what sounds like strings recorded straight to tape before the sodden expanse of rumbling bass and tangled percussion in 'Nailed To The Living Heart...' gives way to a metronomic series of heavy, rumbling bass-drops that recalls Pan Sonic at their heaviest - think of 1999's incredible 'Voima' for a reference point. 'Firmament' allows some light in with a beautiful passage of wilting strings, before 'Steel Church' brings to mind the fragmented percussive treatments of recent material by Nate Young. If any of those reference points tick the right boxes for you, we strongly recommend checking this excellent EP out. Stream > Here !

Moon Wheel - M.U.Podcast 71# (Jan 2014)

Moon Wheel is the independent project of Swedish artist and self-taught musician, Olle Holmberg. Following seven years in Melbourne as a member of experimental electronic group Pissypaw, Holmberg moved to Berlin, where his first production under the Moon Wheel moniker – a 13-minute drone work on a split cassette with post-punk outfit Ill Winds – was released on Noisekölln Tapes in 2012. Holmberg’s cerebral, shape-shifting compositions are inspired by “nature, history and wandering”, and synthesize electronic and organic sounds. As each piece is largely improvisational, his live performances do not recreate his repertoire, but rather experiment with creation as a process of discovery. In 2013 he makes his solo debut as part of the NNF family with a woozy headful of wandering new age rites and 'Surinam' released last month on Wool Recordings.

Madvillain (MF Doom + Madlib) - Rhinestone Cowboy

Madvillainy is a collaboration between rapper MF Doom and producer Madlib under the group name Madvillain.
MF DOOM and Madlib were off the radar to many in 2003, but the announcement of a collaboration and the first track, “America's Most Blunted”, brought all the quiet fans out of the woodwork, and let to a controversial and highly acclaimed album release in early 2004 that helped expose the two artists to a large audience for the first time. While the producer and MC both did was what completely natural to them at the time, they turned the formula of popular rap at the time on its head, creating an album that is both unique and true to it's hip-hop influences.

Nike and Riccardo Tisci Announce Collaboration

We thought 2013 was a huge year for Riccardo Tisci—what with his CFDA International Award, the Met Gala, and his costumes for the Opera Garnier. But ‘14 is shaping up to be just as big. The Givenchy designer has exclusively revealed to that he has collaborated with Nike. The fruits of the partnership, which will bear the logo NIKE RT, will arrive in stores and on this Spring. “For me, Nike represents a lot: my childhood, America,” Tisci said. “In Europe, America is the flag, McDonald’s, Marlboro, and Nike, for a kid it’s very important.” The respect goes both ways. “We were impressed by his vision,” Ian Ginoza, Nike’s Global Footwear Director, said. “I personally wear some of the t-shirts; that’s something that Riccardo does well, blurring the lines with street fashion.”

Neither Tisci nor Nike went into detail about the categories represented in the collaboration, but it’s safe to say that footwear will be a major part of it. Tisci has worn the same style of Nikes for 16 years. “When I got the call, it sounded so strong, so perfect for my DNA. It’s a big honor for me, especially because they’re always working with sports people,” he continued. Nike has partnered with the likes of the industrial designer Mark Newsom, the artist Tom Sachs, and (infamously) Kanye West, but it rarely collaborates with fashion designers. “I couldn’t bring them technology, instead I brought my style, what people like me for and what the young generation follows me for,” Tisci added. So what does it all look like? “It’s strong without being loud,” Tisci promised. This video portrait of the designer (below) may provide some more clues.

Shackleton Announces New EP

It has been some time since we've heard from Shackleton, the Berlin-based Woe to the Septic Heart label boss and bass-focused experimental producer. Nearly two years after releasing his Music for the Quiet Hour/The Drawbar Organ EPs box set, the artist born Sam Shackleton has announced that his next record is set to drop this month. With the title Freezing Opening Thawing and artwork by longtime collaborator Zeke Clough, Shackelton's three-song 12" is said to be a "move away from sample manipulation in favor of synthesis," with "tracks intended for the [dancefloor] with an involved narrative, poly-rhythmic percussive elements, and a psychedelic edge." Anyone interested can hear exactly what that sounds like in the player below, where each of the forthcoming record's tracks can be previewed ahead of their release on January 20. (via Juno Plus)

In 1991 the 'Big Window' Nike Air Max - also known as the Max '91 or Max IV was released, and like the rest of its visible air family earned a place in sneaker history. 2010 marked the release of the iconic shoes more contemporary sister, know as the Gen II, which has received the OG treatment for 2014. Persisan Viloet is the most recognised guise of the BW and it looks as good on the Gen II as it did in 91.
